PRESS-RELEASE

Professional Fire Fighters Association of South Carolina

Proudly Endorse PFAS Self-Test Kit For Firefighters

The Professional Fire Fighters Association of South Carolina (PFFASC) is thrilled to announce its involvement in a groundbreaking project with Diagnose Early right here in South Carolina! Today, PFFASC unveiled a key partnership with Diagnose Early, highlighting their collaborative efforts to address the critical health concerns facing firefighters in South Carolina and throughout the country.

Diagnose Early has developed an innovative test for PFAS, utilizing at-home finger-prick sample collection for testing. “Working with firefighters is a humbling and educational experience,” says Richard Kho-CEO of Diagnose Early. “They are definitely a breed apart and deserve to get access to the best in healthcare and testing technology. Through our ongoing work with the PFFASC, we have come to understand the huge demand for PFAS testing throughout the first responder community. Our R&D team has worked tirelessly to create a PFAS test that will meet the needs of firefighters.”

“PFAS is one of the biggest concerns in the firefighter community,” says Roger Odachowski-President of the PFFASC. “My Brothers and Sisters are being exposed to PFAS on a daily basis. It is proven to be in our safety turnout gear, materials involved in fires, and in products used for fire fighting. Firefighters are becoming aware this is a major cause of our increased rates of cancers. Being able to understand what PFAS is in our bodies will help as we fight this huge health issue.”

The partnership with PFFASC sees Diagnose Early become the preferred partner for PFAS testing. Additionally, Diagnose Early will donate a portion of sales revenue to support the Brotherhood of Firefighters Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting firefighters and their families in South Carolina. This is just one more way that both organizations are making a positive difference to firefighter's lives.

This partnership is crucial in our ongoing mission to protect our South Carolina firefighters. By providing access to cutting-edge PFAS testing, we are taking a significant step toward safeguarding their health and ensuring they receive the care and protection they deserve. PFFASC is proud to be part of this important initiative which is changing the future for first responders.

Diagnose Early’s PFAS test is currently progressing through the CLIA certification process, which ensures the accuracy, quality, and reliability of the laboratory process.
