Benjamin Baker, who is the current Secretary for the Spartanburg City Professional Firefighters Local 369, has been selected by President Roger Odachowski as PFFASC’s first Director of Political Affairs.
In this new role, Benjamin will provide an effective voice and aggressive advocacy for the PFFASC and the IAFF within the South Carolina legislation. The PFFASC builds relationships that foster a robust network of advocates in politics, grassroots organizations and field operations. This advocate network then advances the goals and objectives of the PFFASC and IAFF in South Carolina. Benjamin is focused on solidifying and strengthening that political arm of this network.
Benjamin has been a member of the fire service for seventeen years, beginning with the Cowpens Fire Department in the Upstate of South Carolina. Ben has been employed with the Spartanburg Fire Department for fifteen years and he is currently assigned as a Captain on Rescue 60 Downtown. He’s been an IAFF member since 2006 and he holds the position of Secretary for Spartanburg City Professional Firefighters Association. He currently lives in Greenville, South Carolina with his wife, Meisha, and his seven-year-old son, Robbie
